SUMMARY OF DUTIES

As directed by the Grants Administrator (GA), the Grants Coordinator (GC)works with a team consisting of lead grant writers, lead editors, and lead Quality Assurance staff to ensure high quality grants, both government and private, The GC's role is to identify grants that fit within the mission of the organization, and present such grant opportunities to the grant writing team during our weekly Go/No Go Huddles.

The GC also contributes to:

  1. The organizational sustainability, strategy, and initiatives;
  2. Working with leadership to implement resource development initiatives (e.g.; mission impact opportunities);
  3. Developing a pipeline of grant opportunities through funder contracts and prospecting;
  4. Developing effective resource development processes (e.g.; contracts prospecting, vetting, proposal, and awards); and
  5. Working with the grants team to streamline systems tracking and reporting; and controls proposal/contract recordkeeping.

The GC must be able to offer a flexible work schedule that may include some evenings and weekends to ensure deadlines are not missed.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Four-year College Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency preferred (general major). Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing. Can be waived if candidate has over 2 years RFP/Grant experience.


EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years of related experience.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
