SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Registered Nurse reviews and monitors youth with health and medication needs who reside in transitional care home programs; provides training to direct-care staff and Transitional Home (Resource Home) parents in providing effective and accurate medication administration for youth ensuring appropriate protocols; provides Resource Home parent assistance, education, and training as needed.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Nurse I
- Specialized Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency; includes additional Post Graduate courses required to perform job. Current RN License.
- Registered Nurse II
- Specialized Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency; includes additional Post Graduate courses required to perform job. Current RN License.
- Registered Nurse III
- Master's Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.
EXPERIENCE
- Registered Nurse I
- 0 to 4 years of nursing experience.
- Registered Nurse II
- Over 4 to 8 years of nursing experience.
- Registered Nurse III
- 1+ years of post-master's experience.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed to meet participant needs. Treatment of youth in a mental health or educational setting preferred.
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract and continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.
- Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
